Mosquito Control Larvicide:
Using a biological environmentally safe bacteria (Bactimos Mosquito Control Dunks) that kills only mosquito larvae or an oil to cover the surface of small water sources, it is possible to control mosquitoes before they become adults. Through careful inspection of breeding sites and timely applications of the larvicide (Bactimos Mosquito Control Dunks, Pre-Strike), we can achieve a ninety percent control. Mosquito adults are however able to fly up to a mile in search of blood. It is therefore imperative in a successful larvicide program to have access to all potential breeding sites in a given area. Partial control can be achieved on a residence if breeding sites are on the property.
ADULT Mosquito Control
Adulticiding
Adult Mosquito Control
Adult mosquito control becomes necessary when nuisance factors become excessive.
This usually occurs after heavy Spring rains and warm humid Summers.
During these periods, ULV misting or fogging (HYDROPY-300) with a botanical insecticide combined with chemical treatment (Talstar One, Cy-Kick CS, Dragnet SFR, Demon WP) of lawns, trees, and other vegetation is necessary to control the population.
BIOLOGICAL CONTROL
Control Effected by Some Living Organism:
- Predaceous Mosquito larvae - toxorhynchites sp.
- Mosquito fish - gambusia affinis
- Fungus - laeigenidium giganteum
- Insects - notonectidae, odonata, dytiscidae
- Bats
- Nematodes
- Spiders
