In Many Areas, Fleas are Never Out of Season

Flea SeasonMany people mistakenly believe they only need to be alert for flea infestations during the very hottest times of the year. In reality, though, there really isn’t a short, limited “flea season.”

Fleas tend to thrive in warm, humid weather—but they can still be relatively active even when weather conditions aren’t quite ideal (from a flea’s perspective). As this chart from The Weather Channel shows, many areas of the country have conditions that are “flea-friendly” from at least May through December—and for many parts of the nation, this period stretches to most of the year, if not all year round. Plus, since many household pets are kept inside during colder weather, fleas can still thrive even when the temperature outside gets chilly.

Since fleas are such prolific multipliers, letting your guard down even just briefly can result in a rapid infestation that can catch you unprepared. That’s why you need to take precautions for flea control all year round. Fortunately, it’s easier than you think. ePest has a wide variety of flea control products that don’t require a ton of work on your part.
