    Chaparral™ Herbicide for Bahiagrass Control

    Your premier weed control package.

For personalized results on rangeland and pastures, new Chaparral™ herbicide delivers superior control of Pensacola bahiagrass and a wide spectrum of other broadleaf weeds. The result: more forage, better land utilization and improved animal performance. In Chaparral, Dow AgroSciences introduces the latest technology in range and pasture products for reliable results.

Targeted solution for bahiagrass and other broadleaf weeds.

Pensacola bahiagrass reduces hay quality and may complicate harvest. Broadleaf weeds have a similar effect, diminishing hay quality and palatability. Now with Chaparral, bermudagrass hay producers can be confident they are using the most advanced technology available for improving their hayfields.

Chaparral is safe for use on common and improved varieties of bermudagrass, and it works best on bahiagrass when applied after green-up but before seedhead formation.

Convenient choice for improving your grazing lands.

Along with control of bahiagrass, Chaparral offers many features that make it the right choice for your operation.

    • Unique dry formulation makes mixing easier
    • No license is required to buy or apply Chaparral herbicide 1
    • Does not contain 2,4-D
    • No grazing or haying restrictions for any class of livestock, including lactating dairy cows, horses (including lactating mares) and meat animals prior to slaughter
    • Multiple modes of action help control a broad spectrum of weeds
    • Tank-mix compatible with other herbicides for effective one-pass control

Pensacola bahiagrass in an established bermudagrass pasture diminishes the value of hay and can make harvest more difficult.

For enhanced hay quality, Chaparral herbicide offers excellent control of Pensacola bahiagrass, in addition to control of broadleaf weeds that may infest hayfields.

    Use treated forage sooner.

Chaparral has no restrictions on hay harvest after spraying. However, to obtain the herbicide’s full effect on weeds, hay producers should delay cutting until at least 14 days after spraying with Chaparral. The short 14-day interval still allows producers to cut, spray and stay on a 28-day harvest schedule.

There’s also no need to delay re-entry into a pasture sprayed with Chaparral—especially when doing so is not ideal for animal performance. Chaparral has no grazing restrictions for any class of livestock, including lactating dairy cows, horses—even lactating mares—and meat animals prior to slaughter. However, producers should not transfer grazing animals from areas treated with Chaparral to areas with sensitive broadleaf crops without first allowing three days of grazing on an untreated pasture. Otherwise, urine and manure may contain enough aminopyralid to injure sensitive broadleaf plants. Label precautions also apply to residues in hay treated with Chaparral. Consult the label for use precautions, restrictions and other details.

    Lasting effectiveness on your acres.

Chaparral is designed to provide reliable activity in pastures and on hayground invaded by Pensacola bahiagrass, but soil residual activity makes its value even greater. Chaparral stays on the job for weeks after application, controlling many broadleaf species, including broomweed, annual ragweeds, bitter sneezeweed, dandelion, thistles, horsenettle, wild carrot and other problem broadleaf weeds.

Refer to the product label for a complete list of weeds controlled.

Some states require an individual be licensed if involved in the recommendation, handling or application of any pesticide.
