Habitat Herbicide
Habitat provides intelligent weed control by affecting specific enzymes found only in plants not in humans, animals, birds, fish or insects. The herbicide is absorbed through leaves, stems and roots, translocating rapidly throughout the plant, which causes the weed to stop growing and die as its nutrient reserves are exhausted. Habitat features a low amount of active ingredient and breaks down quickly in the environment. Because it is effective at very low rates, Habitat puts less chemical load on the environment and contains no heavy metals, organochlorides or phosphates. It has received full approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), labeled for controlling undesirable emergent, shoreline and woody wetland aquatic vegetation in and around standing and flowing water, including:
- Alligatorweed
- Phragmites
- Brazilian Pepper
- Purple Loosestrife
- Cattail
- Saltcedar
- Chinese Tallow
- Torpedograss
- Melaleuca
- Water Hyacinth
- Water Lilly
- Water Lettuce
